1.3. Are you products just for individuals with Austism Spectrum Disorder?

A. No!, PECS can be used with individuals who have difficulty using speech as their primary mode of communication or who need to augment their speech. The Pyramid Approach to Education is an organized, manageable educational design based on solidly established principles of learning and behavior. It is appropiate for both regular and special education.

1.4. Will PECS prevent my child/student from learning to speak?

A. No, Research from as early as the 1960s has demonstrated that AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) systems do not inhibit the development of speech, but rather facilitate the development of speech.

1.5. Is PECS compatible with Skinner's analysis of Verbal Behavior?

Yes!, PECS was developed with Skinner's analysis of the functional aspects of language incorperated into each Phase and transitions between the Phases. From Skinner's perspective, any modality (speech, sign, pictures, VOCAs, etc) are equally valid approaches to developing verbal behavior. 2.1. What ages are your products for?

A. Our products have been used with individuals of all ages.

2.2. How do I download the order form?

A. You can go to our Products Page to download the Order form as well as the entire 2007 catalog (large file). The Order Form as well as the rest of our downloads are in Adobe Acrobat 8.1 pdf format. In order to read these files you will have to have the latest Adobe Acrobat reader. You can go to Adobe's website and download it for free.

2. 4. Are the schedule pictures different from PECS 151?

A. Yes, they are. The schedule pictures contain 76 icons for everyday use in the school, home and community. The PECS 151 is a vocabulary set made up of items children most typically request are used for commenting.[top]

Ordering

3.1. How can I preview products before I order them?

A. Some of our products can be seen in action by downloading a short video clip. Other products are demonstrated at many of our workshops.

3.2. When can I place an order?

A. You are able to place an order via fax or web 24 hours, 7 days a week. Phone orders can be placed Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, EST.

3.3. How may I pay for my order?

A. You may pay by Visa, Master Card, Paypal, Check, Money Order, Purchase Order and Cash. All monies should be in U.S. funds. Purchase orders: You are able to fax us a copy of the purchase order or mail us the original. To avoid duplication, if you fax the order, you do not need to send us the original.

3.4. How will I know if Pyramid Educational Products recieved my order?

A. On-line customers are able to log into their account to check the status of their recently placed order. Call, mail or fax orders should contact the business office to check the status.[top]

Shipping

4.1. How soon will I get my order?

A. The order will ship 48 hours from the date the order was recieved. Please allow 5-7 business days for standard delivery. Contact the business office for expedited shipping options.

4.2. What about International Orders?

A. All international orders are accepted via mail, phone, and fax. International online ordering will be available soon! Sorry, no Purchase Orders are accepted on international shipments. Taxes & Duties: The recipient of an international shipment may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Additional charges for custom clearance must be borne by the recipient; we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be. Customs policies vary widely from country to country; you should contact your local customs office for further information.

4.3. How much will it cost to ship my order?

A. Effective September 1st 2008 please see our new shipping policies.

Digital Products

5.1. Does Pyramid Educational Products, Inc. offer digitalized versions of their products?

A. Yes, however only a few selected products will have the option to download a digital copy. More products will be digitalized in the near future. [top]

5.2. Will I need any extra software?

A. The only extra software that is needed at this time is Adobe Reader 8.1 which can be downloaded for free at their website.

5.3. Where do I find the link to download the digital product?

A. Upon sucessfull completion of the order you will be able to log back in and then got "My Account". From there just locate the order where the digital product was purchased and the link will be at the bottom of the page.

5.4. How long is the link valid?

A, The download link will be valid for 14 days after purchase and only valid for 5 downloads.[top]

 

Warranty & Returns

6.1. What is the warranty on the products?

A. All Pyramid Products are gauranteed against defects in material and workmanship for one full year from the date of shipment, unless specifically noted otherwise. Any such defect will be repaired or the product replaced, at our option, upon return to our Newark, DE warehouse. Any product will wear with use and no guarantee is made against normal deterioration.

6.2. What if I want to return a product?

A. You may return or exchange an unused product in good condition that doesn't meet your needs within 30 days of the invoice, excluding textbooks and digital material. We will refund your account for returned merchandise, minus the shipping and handling fee, once merchandise has been recieved, inspected, and confirmed to be in resalable condition. Credits will not be issued for items in non-useable condition. The customer is responsible for properly packaging and protecting the item for shipment back to Pyramid Educational Products. Please include a copy of the invoice or the packing slip to insure proper credit. If you recieve a defective product, or you recieve a product as a result of a Pyramid Educational Products, Inc. error, we will pay for the return shipping expense. All returns should be delivered to:
