How to use Pics for PECS

Inserting a Picture

This tutorial covers the usage of the Pics for PECS CD. This tutorial is based on a Windows XP computer with Microsoft Word 97 or newer.

To begin the tutorial please insert the Pics for PECS CD is in your CD-ROM drive. Open a new blank Word document .

To insert a picture, select Insert->Picture->From File:

Select the images folder on the Pics for PECS CD:

Select one of the preferred category folders.
(In this example we will select the Animals folder):

Select the preferred picture.(In this example we will use alligator)

After the alligator has been selected, Select Insert.

Repeat the above process to insert additional pictures.

Grids

On the Pics For PECS CD we offer a folder containing different size grids to insert your pictures into. To access, select the grids folder on the Pics For PECS cd:

Select the preferred size grid (In this example we will use the 1 75-inch.doc grid):

Once the preferred grid has been opened, select the box you wish to insert the picture:

Select Insert->Picture->From File.

Select the images folder on the Pics For PECS CD:

Select one of the preferred category folders.
(In this example we will select the Animals folder):

Select the preferred picture.(In this example we will use alligator)

After the alligator has been selected, Select Insert.

Repeat this process to insert any additional pictures. (In this example we use the animals picture)

 

Sorting

To sort the pictures on the Pics for PECS CD, navigate to the My Computer icon on your desktop, select the Pics for PECS CD, right click, choose Explore:

 

Select the images folder:

Select the preferred category. (In this example we will be using the Animals folder):

On the main toolbar menu select View->Arrange Icons By then choose your preferred sorting option.(In this example we will be sorting by the image's name.) For additional options we will use the Show in Groups attribute to have a nicely formatted header:
